gnome-terminal error in gnome3

I am not sure what happened, but one day i went to open a gnome-terminal and i get this error:
metulburr@arch ~ $ gnome-terminal
Error constructing proxy for org.gnome.Terminal:/org/gnome/Terminal/Factory0: Error calling StartServiceByName for org.gnome.Terminal: GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Spawn.ChildExited: Process org.gnome.Terminal exited with status 1
metulburr@arch ~ $

Ive attempted to google the reasons, but im still at a loss.

Ive ensured this is set to gnome terminal
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.default-applications.terminal exec gnome-terminal

Its not really even gnome-temrinal that bothers me, the part that i noticed that it doesnt work at first, was nautilus-open-terminal fails. As well as in PCManFM -> Tools -> Open Current Folder in Terminal fails. I would be happy with either fixing whatever is wrong with gnome-terminal, or resetting the temrinal that these file managers use.

EDIT:
my temp fix was to syslink temrinator as gnome-terminal
sudo ln -s /usr/bin/terminator /usr/bin/gnome-terminal
