We hope everyone had a big green St. Patrick’s Day! While you’re waiting for it to be Easter time please post in our forums or hop onto our IRC channel and say Hi.
This website has recently undergone some updates. Bug reports and feedback welcome.

Linux Lite Recommended Hardware/Minimal System requirements

Recommended Hardware/Minimal System requirements:

700 MHz processor+ (your CPU must support pae for 32bit, or for 64bit you need a 64bit capable processor)
512 MiB RAM+
5 GB of hard-drive space+
VGA capable of 1024x768 screen resolution
Either a DVD drive or a USB port for the iso

System boots to about 120-160mb ram after a fresh install.

How do I check if my cpu has pae support?

In Linux:

Open up a terminal, type in:

cat /proc/cpuinfo

look for a line similar to this:

flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss ht tm pbe constant_tsc up pebs bts pni dtes64

we can see that in the 7th entry, there is pae support. If pae is not mentioned on this line, you won't be able to run Linux Lite (this is very rare).

On Windows:

Go here - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/cc835722

Download a copy of Coreinfo, Click on Start, run, type in cmd, press enter.
Copy Coreinfo.exe to C drive. Now in the command prompt type in Coreinfo.exe press enter. Look for an entry similar to the one in the picture below.
