Hello from the UK

I have been searching for MY perfect linux for a long time, before broadband I bought magaziness with distro's, now I download iso's after browsing distro watch, for some time puppy linux was my main OS, along with Mepis and pclinuxos, been using linux lite for a couple of weeks now and have ditched the others, apart from my beloved puppy, tried other ubuntu variants but LL is built with skill, which shows in its speed and solidity, thanks to Valtam and all the devs.

Welcome, nice to see that you like Linux Lite. I use it occasionally but still prefer Ubuntu 13.04.

I used ubuntu for some time, and really really tried to like unity, but prefer a simple menu, (maybe because I am simple) its just quicker for me, I can not prove it but linux lite runs faster than others I have tried, apart from puppy, I can not explain it but LL just feels right.

Understandable. Being a longtime Windows User, it is understandable that (at least) Linux Lite looks like Windows. It definitely (to me) does not feel and act like Windows. That isn't a bad thing, it is just different. I use Ubuntu, because I like Unity, and It has a unique way to present applications, as well as files, photos, videos, etc. I also like the "Chameleon" effect, where the Unity launcher changes to the overall color of the background. (Since I'm from the US, "color" is how it is spelled in U.S. English).
